About proximapool

proximapool is a mining pool for the Proxima network. It brings miners together so that they can earn rewards more regularly than they would alone.

The pool rewards miners using the PPLNS system, with a 1% pool fee. Rewards are shared according to the work each miner contributes, under the same rules for everyone, whatever the size of their operation. Payments go out every hour, and each one is published so that anyone can check it.

Proxima is a young network that changes often. We follow its development closely and keep the pool up to date, but we cannot guarantee earnings. The availability of the pool and this website is not guaranteed; maintenance and downtime may be necessary.

Your keys and your wallet

We never see your wallet key. To pay you, the pool only needs your public address. Your wallet's 24 words, .key file and password are never sent to the pool, and no one from the pool will ever ask for them.

My wallet runs in your browser. Your key is created on your device, encrypted with your password and stored there. Transactions are signed on your device, and only the signed transaction passes through the pool on its way to the network. We keep no copy, so only your 24 words can restore your wallet. The wallet page is delivered by this site: if you prefer, use any other Proxima wallet and just enter its address.

Mining uses a separate key. On Proxima, every mining attempt is signed with a private key, so a miner has to hold one. Never hand a miner or a pool the key of a wallet that holds your funds. Here you don't have to: the pool creates a key just for your account, and your rigs download it over HTTPS. The pool and your rigs both hold this key, but it is not your wallet. It cannot spend your wallet's funds, change your payout address or withdraw your pool balance.

Keep your rigs secure all the same. Someone who copies your mining key could keep a block won with it. We would see that on the chain and suspend your account, balance intact, until a person reviews the case.

What the pool does hold. Your pool balance stays in the pool's wallets until it is paid to your address. From then on, only your key can spend it.
